Katie Watson

Katie Watson

Katie began improvising at iO in 1997, she has performed as a member of Sirens (the country’s longest-running all-female improv group) since 2000, and she created “medical improv” (a method of enhancing doctor-patient communication) which she teaches at Northwestern University’s medical school. As a writer, Katie is author or co-author of several critically-acclaimed sketch shows, her plays have had readings or workshops with theaters including Goodman, Stage Left, and Polarity, and she’s half of The History Girls, a duo that offers news commentary from the perspective of interesting dead people at the live magazine show Paper Machete at The Green Mill. Katie is also a graduate of the Second City Directing Program (2009), and she loves directing independent sketch for groups like GayCo. Katie is honored to have been awarded four Arts Residencies at the Ragdale Foundation. When not improvising or writing, Katie is alleged to be a lawyer.
